We are a community dedicated to bringing people together, sharing our passion for bourbon whiskey, and giving back to the Charlotte community. From the novice to the enthusiast, we welcome all who want to learn more about the spirit we love.
About The Charlotte Bourbon Society
The Charlotte Bourbon Society (CBS) has become Charlotte’s premier bourbon society. Founders Ken and Tracey Bernardo established the CBS in 2018, as a result of Ken’s annual bourbon dinner benefit to raise funds and awareness for the prevention of cardiovascular disease and stroke. They quickly realized that Charlotte lacked a group focused on the bourbon boom, whiskey education, and events where like-minded individuals can relax and expand their horizons in all things bourbon — the spirit we love.
One of the core goals of CBS is to support Charlotte’s local establishments. Aside from building a community of whiskey lovers, Ken and Tracey felt it was paramount to create a plan for giving back to one of the fastest-growing metropolitan cities in the Southeast. They have formed partnerships with local bars and restaurants to offer discounts for members of the Charlotte Bourbon Society. In addition to supporting local, they have created a CBS Hospitality Single Barrel Pick Panel that includes Charlotte’s leading bartenders and chefs. When you have trained palates tasting premium barrel samples, it’s no surprise that the barrels selected for the CBS have received rave reviews — if you’re fortunate to get one!
The CBS is a society that welcomes all people, regardless of age, gender, race, or level of experience with the spirit we love! We want our members to embrace diversity, and be a reflection of Charlotte’s culturally vibrant community. Join Charlotte’s premier bourbon society today!
